The Loop has lots of restaurants, little shops, an old movie theater, bowling alley, music venues, etc. Good people watching. Large student population from nearby Washington University (Wash U). Fun for families during the day, and fun to have drinks, etc in the evening. Try Blueberry Hill (good basic food, with tons of old memorabilia), Fitz's (bottle their own root beer, and a restaurant too), Salt & Smoke (good BBQ). Tacos, Thai Food, burgers, middle eastern, good mix of food, and people.

Forest Park is one of the great parks in America, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. And you can enjoy it right here in St. Louis. It houses our outstanding and FREE, St. Louis Zoo. Our great Art Museum, History Museum, the Jewel Box, our outdoor Municipal Opera (The Muny), it was the site of the 1904 World's Fair. The Boat House, where you can rent boats to go out on the Great Basin, which is at the foot of the Art Museum. Beautiful area. There are trails throughout for walking/running, biking.
