Gecko Car Rental is typically the cheapest and most reliable car rental company. I've had terrible experiences with other companies where they quote one price and then charge double in the office. Gecko's prices are clear, fair, and include insurance at face value.

What to pack
It is very wise to bring mosquito repellant, Benadryl cream, sunscreen, and flashlights for walking in the dark, as well as flip-flop or thong sandals to wear at all times for scorpion safety. These items are available in town at tourist prices.
