The SW coastal path passes close by the home, before taking its spectacular route overlooking Plymouth Sound towards Bovisands beach and Wembury Bay. It's approximately 6 miles from the home to Wembury which is probably a good day's route, with several possible cafe stops en route, at Jennycliffe and Bovisands. The No. 48 bus runs hourly & will bring you back (change at Plymstock for the No. 2 to Mountbatten). The other way routes you to the pretty village of Turnchapel then around Hooe Lake and towards Plymouth city centre. Ideal for keen walkers - bring your walking boots.

One visit may not be enough to experience the delights of the Aquarium so why not buy the ticket which allows multiple visits in one season? The sharks and rays silently swooshing above your head are captivating. Take the yellow ferry across to the Barbican and the Aquarium will be found across the footbridge on your right, next to the Rockfish restaurant.

Cycling activities

Moderate to keen cyclists will surely enjoy a day in the saddle on Route 27, which heads north out of Plymouth towards Dartmoor, passing through Pymbridge Woods. You can either cycle from the house or drive to the Coypool park n ride and start there. It's a gentle gradient all the way to Clerebrook, or carry on a little further for a cafe stop at Dartmoor Bakery or Scarlett’s Kitchen in Yelverton, or another 5 miles or so toTavistock. Mostly on offroad hard surface ideal for hybrid, mountain or e-bikes. Alternatively, drive to Okehampton and join the Granite Way (route 27) to Lydford. Can highly recommend the Castle Inn for a magnificent lunch in the garden.
