In 1901, Marconi received the first cross - Atlantic wireless signal from here. Wonderful hiking trail and Historic Landmark site guarding the opening of St. John's Harbour - you can almost imagine the French and English vying for its ownership.

Great sandy beach only about one hour from the cabin - likely the adults wont swim in the ocean but kids will pretty much try anything - great little river for swimming that leads into the ocean

The Town of Brigus is famous for some of its sea captains and is a stunning community close by. There is a Blueberry festival in August. Great little restaurants also.
