High Bridge is a railroad bridge crossing the Kentucky River Palisades. The original bridge was constructed in 1876 and was the first cantilever bridge in the US. At the time it held the record for the tallest railroad bridge in the world! It has been designated as a Nation Civil Engineering Landmark and is still used by the Norfolk Southern Railway. The park also includes a restored 19th century open air dance pavilion, picnic area and playground.
