Sandıma Village is the 600 years old nomad village and the first settlement of the Yalıkavak. That time houses were located on the slopes of the mountains (150 mt. above the sea level) and agricultural estates, orchards were by the sea.
After the 1960s when tourism started to develop people migrated to the seasides. They built houses in their orchards and start to live in them. Eventually, Sandime became an abandoned village.
There are ruin, stone houses and also there is Republic Period Primary Village School with 4 classroom. You can take a walk and experience old village and the aegean architecture examples under the grand poplar trees with beautiful Yalıkavak view.

Swimming
Yalikavak Public Beach is a small and generally quiet beach. There are only umbrellas, no sunbeds here, you can take your own. Great area for a short morning swim. You can take your food and beverage. Also great spot for sunset! You should take a glass of wine and watch the sunset!
The sea is clean and the beach consists of a mixture of pebbles and sand. You can reach here in 3-4 minutes on foot from your house. Yalikavak public beach does not have any entrance fee. There are no toilets, showers or changing rooms.

Most of the days are windy. You can prefer north side of the Yalıkavak like Küdür Bay and Tilkicik Bay.
