So why is The Basin called The Basin? The naming in 1860 when government botanist Ferdinand von Mueller – of German descent – thought,it was like being in a basin surrounded by hills. Come and see , it's far more than being in a bowl. Locals never leave and the secrets out this is one of the best suburbs in Melbourne.
