Best breakfast spot. Total local hangout. Great sandwiches as well (the SLT "smoked salmon, lettuce, tomato" is amazing with home-made chips). House roasted coffee. A must!

I love this place. It's often our first choice "Friday night, I don't want to cook, I don't want to spend a lot of money - let's chill and eat taco's instead" place. Buffalo Shrimp and the Grilled Shrimp tacos are my "go-to's".

Lovely little cafe, gift shop and garden center. Go for dessert or (OMG) the bread. Specialty cheeses/foods and beautiful pottery (some local artists) are of note.

This is one of our favorite places to stop when we are riding the bike trail. Located at the Ferry Terminal, you can not beat the views of Delaware Bay. The fact that the food is good is such a bonus. Plan your visit for sunset if possible!

Another So Del favorite - Great food and lots of outdoor seating. We love the crab cakes and seafood stew. There is another Bluecoast in Bethany on Route One that has nice views of the marsh area, if you feel like taking the drive.

Very popular Mexican restaurant. The original is on 2nd Street in Lewes and they just opened a larger restaurant on Route 1, just a few minutes from the cottage. Great tequila selection, good food at reasonable prices. Be prepared to wait for a table.

This delightful French bakery opens at 8am and I've yet to arrive and there not be a line... and for GOOD reason. I find it hard to get past the almond croissants but everything looks fabulous. There is one window for croissants and one window for crepes. Pick your fancy...or do both! It's vacation!! :-)

What a treasure! So many trails to discover, for walking or jogging. Oh yea, there's also the beach...walk on (with bath house and grill) or drive on if you have required surf fishing tags and 4 wheel drive. We are SO lucky to have this park nearby. Way to go Delaware.

Rent a bicycle and do this trail!! It's so beautiful and peaceful. The entire loop connects Lewes and Rehoboth and runs through Cape Henlopen State Park. There are places to stop and rest along the trail, whether in nature or at some of the local watering holes/restaurants.

The comfort bikes are just as the name suggests - perfect for the full bike trail loop! The people who own/work there are very knowledgeable and accomodating. They charge by the hour, 1/2 day, day or week. Nice people, fair pricing and quality equipment. If you do the full trail, reward yourself with lunch at Grain, located at the Ferry Terminal overlooking Delaware Bay - or any of the great restaurants along the way.
