Hiking

Different hikes my family has enjoyed.
Thunderbird Conservation Park (Ramada at the 55th Ave/Pinnacle Peak parking area). **Address is approximately 5491 W Pinnacle Peak** Coach Whip Bridge Loop - 1.25 miles ~ 1.5 hours at toddler/worn-child pace. Easy-Moderate. Time allows for snack break at top of trail. Please bring water and sun protection. Park does not have a bathroom. (Details from Motherhiker Facebook group) 7 min drive.

Hike location: Spur Cross Conservation Area Trail name: Jewel of the Creek, Dragonfly Loop Approximate distance: 1.7 mi Difficulty level: easy-moderate Description of hike: This hike will take us down to the creek. We will walk through Saguaro forests and towering Cottonwood trees. Swaying grasses and flowing water on this trail attract a variety of wildlife. Fee: none How to get there: North on Spur Cross Rd from Cave Creek Rd. 3.7 miles to parking on left side of road. If you’ve gotten to Spur Cross Stables, you’ve gone too far. If this parking area is full there is additional parking 1/8 of mile up the road on the right. Where to park: Park in the dirt lot to the west. Please remember to wear proper sun protection and comfortable hiking shoes. Bring plenty of water and snacks. There are no bathrooms nor potable water at this trailhead.
