Hiking and snorkeling spots

Snorkeling

#1 snorkeling spot on St John, and for good reason. Gentle hike and a stunning cay, mix of seagrass and coral, sand and cobblestones. When leaving coral bay and heading into North beaches area head to Maho until it turns into a single lane. Follow it until you come to a Y intersection. Bear right- signs for Annaberg and Leinster Waterlemon Cay. There is a parking area about 500 yards down. The hike is flat and about a half mile each way. Caution!!! Do not go when it is windy. The current can be strong.

More remote but close to cottage. Park at Hansen Bay beach lot- just past where the road splits around an ancient boxwood tree. Great seas grass beds. Good spot to spot turtles.
