Hiking
There are great hiking opportunities around Kahshe Lake Getaway. We have fallen in love with the area and hope you will too. The winter is a great time to visit our getaway. There are amazing hiking and snow shoeing opportunities. Coopers Falls Trail is wonderful and is part of the Trans-Canada Trail. There are 2 entrances, with parking off Coopers Fall Road. You could try one half of the trail one and the other half another day.
Another hiking option is the Jervis and Silver Lakes Trail which is at the end of Sam Cook Road. It’s also spectacular and less travelled.
This hiking option is located at the end of Sam Cook Road (The road the cottage is on). It is good for hiking or snowshoeing. Parking is VERY TRICKY during the winter so only drive as far as the road is maintained and then walk/hike/snowshoe form there.
Jevins and Silver Lake Conservation Reserve

Wether you want to stick close to the cottage or go further afield there are lots of great cross country skiing options

Hardwood Hills has a chalet and ski rentals. Also have Winter Cycling. A local favourite. 45 minutes away. It's not as scenic as the Muskoka location but great for beginners and more advanced skiers. Lessons can also be arranged. Call first.
