My favorite trail nearby is about a 30 minute drive and has views of the whole city. You’ll want to hike the desolation trail just after the inn on your right. Head to the peak!

There’s a bus that goes straight downtown
You can catch the 209 right on the corner of 900 E and Browning. Stand on the side of the street with the white building and it will take you right into the downtown city center and temple square for $2.50.
