The Stone Wharf, in town at the corner of Water and Conestoga streets, is a designated ‘free fishing’ zone, which means you do not need a fishing license to fish off the wharf.
You may also fish in the park in front of the house but you’ll need a fishing license. You can pick one up at Herb’s Tackle Shop in North East (3.3 miles), https://herbstackleshop.com.

Sandy Beach, located at the intersection of Calvert and Conestoga Streets, is a cozy little spot that offers beautiful views of the Elk Neck Peninsula and the North East River. You should also try Foot Log Park, located at the corner of Bladen and Conestoga Streets. Cross over the wooden footbridge and enjoy the beach area. The ever popular Veterans Park, located in the heart of Charlestown, is a popular swimming spot. Dogs are welcome in this park as long as you clean up after them and keep them on a leash.
