Intimate french brasserie with modern decor serving delicious and interesting food for an excellent price. Lunch on Sunday is particularly good value but it's lovely for an evening meal too.

Run by a kiwi this fab wee restaurant is an easy walk away and different kind of place as the food is served tapas style. Bit more pricey but worth it - you almost certainly need to book ahead.

The Botanics are a few mintues away from the apartment and an absolutely fantastic place to go for a wander in the city to get away from it all but note running isn't permitted so head across the road to Inverleith Park to use your trainers! On a rainy day the glass houses are a great option.

On a rainy day the glass houses are a great option.
Taking the time to walk to the top of Arthur's Seat, an extinct volcano in the centre of the Edinburgh, is rewarded with amazing views of the city, out to the bridges, over to Fife and out to the Lothians. A great way to burn off some calories without thinking about it!

I love to disappear from the main roads onto the cyclepaths for a run or to walk between places. It's a really nice way to travel around the city and avoid the traffic.

Although not as secret as it once was Bramble is still a good option for somewhere off the beaten track for unusual cocktails (particularly gin based) and funky vibe.
