Built in 1899, this historic farmhouse welcomes guests to country life.
The farm is on 22 acres and is surrounded by hills and rolling terrain. Sunsets are stunning and guests watch from the big back porch. This is the spot to start your day with a cup of morning coffee and reminisce about your day over an evening glass of wine.
There is a peace that the quietness of small town country life brings, and guests will find that and so much more here at my farm. There are mares grazing in pastures, along with cows and even, at times, a deer or two. The young colt, with his dam, draws people to him.
Guests find respite in the shade of enormous live oaks, thanks to my children who planted over 40 live oak saplings many years ago. The paved road attracts bikers, walkers, and runners.
Hikers and history buffs alike can explore Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park, only 10 minutes away. At back of the park is the Brazos River and an awe inspiring walk high above the river bank. Along the way, you will learn a bit of this famous river’s history.
Bring boots to wear for country activities!
There are many places to explore.
Raymond West wrote a book about my place: “Bennie Krueger, Texas Ranger…Texas Gentleman.”
My Farm Manager is excellent, and he knows the number of guests to expect. He checks on the farm daily and can help you needed.

“The original Texana,” a new event center across road, is perfect for weddings, corporate events, and large gatherings.
*Chapelton Vineyard is a prestigious new vineyard over the hill behind my property. It is open weekends and guests love it.
*R’s PLACE is my favorite “cowboy bistro”and is near the park, only 10 minutes away. It serves a delicious 3 course dinner on Saturday night and sometimes a barbeque lunch on Sunday.
