Victoria is a fabulous City. I moved here 10 years ago and have lived mostly in James Bay. This location is the best, allows easy enjoyment of all amenities.
July 2012, Everything was perfect. It was easy to rich Josie and she was very accomodating for the check-in and the check-out. The studio was clean and well furnished. I had all I needed for my journey. The studio is quiet and near the boardwalk were you can be near the sea for walk and sunsets. Afew blocks away there was all the services:grocery, BC Alcool, restaurants, cafe, post office, bank, pharmacy,... It was easy going around since the studio is at about 15min by foot to the Empress. Little tip: coner of Beacon and Douglas there's a drive inn which has some very good icecream.
Great place to stay in a great location. The studio apartment is just as it appears in the photos. Everything is super clean - the bathroom, kitchenette, appliances and dishes. The unit is quite private, as it is attached to the garage away from the main house, and I did not have much interaction with the hosts except for at check-in and check-out. The kitchen is great: full-sized fridge, plenty of dishes/utensils/pots/pans, and the toaster oven, hot plates, and other appliances are like new. Complimentary tea and coffee. Great location in a quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of downtown.
Emma's studio is a comfortable, efficient and a great alternative the hotels downtown.
I stayed in the studio for three nights recently and found the bed very comfortable and the area very quiet. Located in a detached building offers privacy and yet you are in the midst of a nice neighborhood to experience the James Bay atmosphere. There is a local grocer just a block away allowing you to take advantage of the cooktop, microwave and toaster oven in the kitchen. Very close to Beacon Hill park and the ocean front; just a 15 minute walk to the Inner Harbour and downtown area.
