Stedet ligger veldig isolert. Barna stortrivdes her.
Namuka Bay was a hidden resort right on the southern coast of Fiji. It was a beautiful location and had wonderful staff who were so sweet and helpful! The food is all organic, and grown right on location, so tastes amazing!
This is not for the normal resort goer as it's a really rough road from the highway, and has no power until sunset. Also, wifi is unfortunately not included! But- if you're a bit adventurous and looking for an authentic Fiji experience, this is your place!
If you, like me, loathe the big resort atmosphere, this is a great place. It is secluded and gorgeous, the staff is genuine and friendly, and the whole experience feels welcoming and pleasant. I thought it was great.
I rented a scooter from a place in Nadi to get here, that was a fun adventure as well if you're into that sort of thing.
To set expectations, there was power only from 7PM until early morning, and there aren't any frills- it's basic and beautiful. I see this as a benefit, not just because it's how I prefer to live, but also because it means the other guests were interesting and pleasant instead of entitled and vapid per my experience at big resorts.
I was not greeted by Victor, nor did I see him at all during my stay, but I was welcomed with open arms and kindness by a lovely Fijian gal who helped me check in and showed me to my dorm. Everything was very clean and tidy. I only stayed one night, but wish I had stayed longer. The views are unreal! This place is a must stay! The food was delicious as well. I do suggest to bring your own towel for bathing and swimming.
I didn't know what to really expect, but, this location certainly has the WOW factor !! Beautiful serenity & tranquility that I was after & got it. Great staff that couldn't do enough for me. Wonderful organic food as well.
I only waded in the water & had the beach to myself ! Was absolute bliss. Would love to go back in the cooler months, as it was very hot & humid.
Loved meeting the family & learnt a lot while there.
The resort is in a secluded coral reef bay, nothing else happening just nearby. During my stay the place was fully booked, but even then I didn't feel like it was crowded - I usually had the reef just for myself to snorkle in, which is pretty amazing.
There's a few things to be considered and understood when staying here:
1) It's pretty far from the airport, and hard to reach by public transport. However, you can take a taxi (I paid $80 Fiji dollars).
2) Nothing's really near by walking distance (other restaurants, bars etc.)
3) They've only got one chef, so even if you book your meal in advance for a specific time, it can be a bit late :)
4) The place has a family-run feel to it, so the people working are genuinely present, no forced customer service smiles
5) The Villas look really nice, but the rooms can be a bit worn down
Having said that, if you consider some of these limitations and are looking for an affordable, isolated retreat with a stunning beach, this is your place.
Oh and there's animals around, too: chickens, horses, cows, a dog... I really liked that :)
Our stay in the Coral Coast was an incredible experience thanks to the lovely staff and the beautiful surroundings from start to finish.
We had a large size room with a large en-suite - The bathroom has an outside shower which was beautiful, especially at night time to shower underneath the stars.
Snorkelling was the best we experienced in Fiji by far! A huge variety of fish, coral, starfish etc. with a safe reef to swim in constantly. Snorkels & kayaks are free which was an added bonus compared to other resorts.
The food was delicious & organic- try the fish curry! I think this is what we loved best about the food, to know that it was organic and extremely fresh.
We went on a couple of tours which were fabulous and well guided through the rainforest setting, learning about the Fijian culture from past and present.
We absolutely loved our time staying in the white sandy beach villa and would highly recommend it to anyone. Make sure you sit down at the beach at sunset, you may even see the locals on horses riding into the sunset.
We enjoyed a very relaxing stay at this lovely seaside resort. The villa was very comfortable and clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. IiYou will definitely be off the grid as there is only electricity at night and internet is spotty at best. Take the opportunity to relax away from it all. The hotel is right on the reef so you can snorkel anytime without a boat- just walk in and enjoy. I loved the open air shower in our room. Please be careful not to step on the coral as you can see lots of dead corals from previous incidents. The food was quite good and reasonably priced. If you like to relax by the seaside in a stunning reef setting, you will like it.
