Parkland Walk

I like to run along this old railway line, which used to connect Finsbury Park and Alexandra Palace but has been turned into a footpath. It’s a long, green nature reserve lined with trees. Running from Finsbury Park to Highgate and back is one for a summer’s evening, so you catch the sun setting over London coming back down from Highgate. A good 12 km route starts at Highbury and Islington station: Run through Highbury Fields, Gillespie Park, Finsbury Park, and join the Parkland Walk there, running all the way up to Highgate, off-road. Turn around at Kate Moss’s favourite pub, the Boogaloo, and run back.

London's longest, thinnest nature reserve! A beautiful nature space that runs along an abandoned branch of the Northern Line. Great spot for walkers and joggers. One can walk from Finsbury Park all the way up to Alexandra Palace. Does not feel like you are in the middle of a big city at all!

The walk is a local nature reserve and a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation. It was declared a local nature reserve in 1990 and is London's longest such reserve. Between Finsbury Park and Highgate, the path forms part of the Capital Ring strategic walking route

The Parkland Walk is a linear park, formerly a railway line running from Finsbury Park to Muswell Hill and is now a nature reserve.
