This is the home of a woman who has been a chef for many years. She is very experimental and, in my opinion, has made transcendental contributions to contemporary Cuban cuisine. She has lived in and run this restaurant for the last 20 years and has a lovely garden courtyard where she’s created a very comfortable space. She makes the best tamale casserole in the country—don’t hesitate to ask for it! At the end of your meal, order the torrejas, sweet toast, which is one of the most classic Cuban desserts.

This is an amazing place and great restaurant. You can have excellent Cuban food, see food and the delicious recommendation of Liliam!

Great ambience, service, and food. The paladar has been there for decades. The courtyard and home are really impressive. The paella was standout!!!

“Located in Miramar is a must stop if you visit Havana. Excellent food, super service. The seafood pizza is amazing, for 15 CUCs it has any amount of shrimp and lobster chunks! The lobster on the pineapple another wonder and I can not fail to mention the super daiquiris to me and my group of friends who tasted the best in Havana. 100% recommendable!”

“ Sergio García Macías runs one of the busiest restaurants in Havana (especially at lunchtime), El Aljibe, which features a 62-year-old secret recipe for roast chicken that has drawn the likes of Hollywood star Jack Nicholson and former President Jimmy Carter. This is a great place for Creole food, as well as the chicken and the rice, which are excellent, and the French fries and fresh bread to complement. While there is other stuff on the menu, the as-much-as-you-can-eat El Aljibe chicken, CUC 12, is what you go there for. Address: Ave. 7ma entre 24 y 26, Miramar. Phone: (+53)7204 - 1583. Open noon-midnight”
