The drive from Chimayo to Echo Amphitheater is about 45 minutes. But you'll want to stop frequently for photos. This area is one of the most scenic in New Mexico. Just outside of Abiquiu, stop at the Santa Rosa de Lima Church ruins. As you leave Abiquiu, watch for the horseshoe bend in the Chama River. There are a couple of safe pull offs to park and enjoy the view.
