Die Markthallen wurde zwischen 1876 und 1879 auf einem Gelände erbaut, an dem sich zuvor eine Schiffswerkstatt aus Zeiten der Nasriden befand, von der bis heute nur das große Marmortor erhalten geblieben ist und von dem sich der heutige Name „Atarazana“, was so viel wie Werkstadt oder Fabrik bedeutet, herleitet. Hier kannst Du von Obst und Gemüse, über Käse und Schinken, bis hin zu Fisch und Meeresfrüchten alles bestaunen oder kaufen.
