While Bali Hai Pier and the area around it has a host of activities such as fishing and diving trips, it is as a gateway to Koh Larn which is its real attraction. The largest and most popular of Pattaya’s nearby islands, “Coral Island” has several of the white sandy beaches its name suggests, which are ideal for relaxing on, swimming or snorkelling off or walking between across the island’s hilly interior. A regular passenger ferry runs between the pier and the island every 30 minutes and takes about as long to get there while a chartered speedboat can do the same trip in about ten minutes. The fare for the ferry is very cheap, however, while the speedboat can cost over 1,500 baht. The pier is also the only way to access the floating restuarants in Pattaya Bay.
