The Old Fortress of Corfu is one of the most impressive fortifications works in Europe.This fortress was constructed by the Venetians in the 15th century on the site of a former Byzantine castle. Inside you can find a church constructed according to the Doric style.You can exlore it and from the top you can see the square Spianada, the second largest square in Europe and the old corfu town. Above the central square of it, there is a cafe, that you can enjoy your coffe with the perfect view of ionian see. Near to the botom of it you can eat by the sea. For more than four centuries, this fortress had been the symbol of the Venetian occupation in the Ionian islands and today it is one of the most impressive sights on Corfu.

Climb up to the Cross, the view is breathtaking! You can swim at the Corfu Sailing Club beach, under the fortress. Also you can have a coffee or lunch at the Corfu Sailing Club restaurant.
