This is highly recommended. Awesome deck on the Lake serving quality food and drink. Spacious and relaxed. This is one of the three cafe spots situated right on the foreshore. Not so well known to tourists but definitely a local favourite. Great dining on the water and outdoor pizza oven.

“A day at Sovereign Hill is a day filled with fun and adventure. Discover all the action and excitement of life as it was in 1850s Ballarat during the greatest alluvial gold rush the world has ever seen. Sovereign Hill is a living museum with working exhibits brought to life by costumed characters and over 40 horses. Set on 25 acres of an original mining site, Sovereign Hill is a goldfields town with shops, hotels, a theatre, schools, factories, a gold diggings and underground mines to explore. Sovereign Hill is an easy 90-minute drive from Melbourne and we have plenty of free parking on-site.”

“The Ballarat Tramway Museum is staffed by volunteer members who are dedicated to preserving and operating a part of the former Ballarat street tramways. Trams operate from 11:00 am every weekend and public holiday and during the Victorian school holidays. During winter the last run is approximately 4:00pm. As when the trams carried local residents about their business, fares are collected by the driver or conductor and traditional tram tickets are issued. The trams run along Wendouree Parade through the beautiful and historic Botanical Gardens on a journey of fifteen to twenty minutes. At the Tram Depot many tramway relics are on view. A short DVD presentation documents the history of tramways in Ballarat. All the Museum's trams are also on display including Horse Tram No 1 from 1887. Souvenirs are available for sale both on the trams and at the Depot. The Tram Depot is open on weekends and at other times when volunteer staffing permits. It is usually open every Tuesday from 10:”
