St. Pete Beach is a Florida resort city set on a barrier island, west of St. Petersburg. It’s known for its beaches. A 1928 landmark, the pink Moorish-style Don CeSar Hotel looms over the shore. The Pass-A-Grille area offers galleries, shops and the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, which displays postcards and other artifacts in a 1917 church. Spend the day strolling Gulf Blvd and taking in the beautiful pristine beaches. Grab lunch at one of the countless beach bars and pop back after a swim for some live music!

For hours of family fun, head to Upham Beach Park. (Tip from a local: Check out the “Secret Garden” on the north end of Upham Beach. You can only get to this lush spot by walking all the way to the north.) For a splurge, the Tradewinds Island Grand resort sells day passes giving you access to the High Tide Slide, pools, a beach cabana, mini-golf, parking and more. If you’re craving an action-packed day with brews and beach volleyball, check out Postcard Inn or enjoy some live music at award-winning beach bar Jimmy B’s behind the Beachcomber Hotel.
