The castle, stronghold of the town of Gallipoli, is completely surrounded by the sea. It is located on the eastern part of the “nice town” and it can be already seen at the entrance of the peninsula which surrounds the old part of the town, at the entrance of the seventeenth century bridge, in the past a lift bridge, which connects the isthmus to the mainland. The stronghold used to be probably separated by the surrounding land. The castle, completely surrounded by the sea, has nowadays a quadrangular shape with four towers on each corner and a fifth one, called “Rivellino”, separated from the perimeter and alone in the water.

Ospita mostre e sul terrazzo c'è un magnifico bar, "51 nodi", dove poter gustare colazione, brunch, aperitivi e godere di una vista mozzafiato./Unmissable the visit of Angevin Castle, with fortify structure. Gallipoli è uno dei posti più belli del Salento. All'interno del borgo antico si trova il castello medievale con il museo. Gallipoli è il luogo per assoluto di tutto il salento ad offrire, bellissime spiagge, buon cibo e vita notturna, posto ideale per trascorrere bellissime giornate in totale relax e interesse. Il castello di Gallipoli, sottoposto a recente restauro, è certamente uno dei luoghi da visitare per il suo valore storico e per la vista che offre una volta saliti in cima ad esso.

Con i suoi tre torrioni circolari e la torre poligonale, il sistema difensivo della città e del porto fu migliorato nel XVI secolo, da non perdere
