Beth Chatto OBE (1923-2018) was an award winning plantswoman, author and lecturer. One of her achivements was to create adrought resistant planting design. You need to book before visiting but it is worth a visit particularly if you are a keen gardener. Plants to buy in spring and summer.

These famous gardens were created by Beth Chatto OBE VMH who was a British plantswoman, garden designer and author/lecturer. The gardens are based near Elmstead Market in the English county of Essex and are definitely worth a visit. They also have a wonderful tea room where you will be able to eat, drink & enjoy the view of the gardens while you relax.

This is one of my favourite gardens. The dry garden is a real lesson in how to plant gardens that don't rely on water. Good all year round.
