This is my new favorite beach, there is a new winding path from the parking lot down to the beach. There used to be a set of stairs but they seemed to get damaged every winter so now there is a nice path (easier for rolling the beach buggy). The former bath house has been removed and the new one…

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to go to Nauset Light Beach just after sunset and watch the seals swim and play. On a warm night with a bright moon you can stay there for hours and watch the bonfires illuminate pockets of the beach.

“The amazing landscape includes marshlands and stunning dunes. Large waves at the Coast Guard beach creates great opportunities for boogie-boarding and surfing. The parking at the beach is not very large and is for residents only, however, non-residents can park at the nearby Little Creek parking lot and hop on the shuttle that runs every few minutes. A boardwalk runs right to the beach making it accessible for the disabled. There are lifeguards, showers, restrooms, and even handicap chairs available at the beach.”

“Located right in the heart of Chatham, Oyster Pond is a great for families, especially if there are small children. It is not the ocean but is a quiet, calm beach area with spectacular views of the large homes surrounding it. Children can play in the water and in the sand. There are two floating platforms in the "pond" which you can swim out to and sunbathe on or jump off of. The ice cream truck stops by the pond and it is a big hit for everyone. The water is pretty shallow and you can walk out far before you actually have to swim. You do need to swim to the platforms. Oyster Pond has a lifeguard, restrooms and a shower. Free parking is available on a first come first serve basis. ”
