It is important to understand Rwanda's history; pay tribute to over 1 million Tutsi's who were killed in the 1994 genocide. You will learn a lot, learn about the people of Rwanda and appreciate their resilience.
This is an emotional memorial to one of the world's most horrific events which took place in 1994. The memorial itself is free of charge but you can pick up an audio guide for a fee at the entrance. If you spend any time in Rwanda, you should definitely make a point of visiting this memorial.
