The Bonfim park is located, dates back to the 16th century, when D. Manuel I acquired the Herdade Barbuda, north of Postigo de Santa Catarina, at the confluence with the current 5 October avenue. In that vast land he had a pleasant garden planted. Over the years, the garden has undergone several works and extensions. The current one was conceived by the architect António Viana Barreto, in the early 60's, decade of its construction. Since then, the structure of the park has undergone minor changes, such as the creation of new paths due to increased use as a pedestrian zone. This public garden, located in the parish of São Julião, occupying an area of 42531 square meters.

É o jardim mais central na cidade e é lindo! Com grandes áreas verdes com relva e trilhos para caminhar ou fazer jogging. Tem um lago com lindos patos e cisnes. Possui área com baloiços e atividades para crianças e um bar com esplanada moderno e muito agradavel.
