The Acropolis of Rhodes dating from the Classical Greek period (5th–3rd century BC) is just a 15 min walk from the property. The site consists of the Temple of Apollo (also, as alternatives Athena Polias and Zeus Polieus) below which is a stadium and a small Odeon where musical activities such as singing, musical shows, and poetry competitions were held. Odeons were smaller than Greek and Roman theaters. All is included in a large park called Monte Smith, named after an English Napoleonic admiral William Sidney Smith.

Famous ruins of an old settlement with various constructions, such as a stadium and a theater. In Rhodes’ modern city, you will also discover the vestiges of Rhodes’ Acropolis, located 2 km away from the medieval city, on the slopes of Monte Smith. There, you can see the remains of the Stadium, the Theatre and the Pythian Temple of Apollo. This archaeological site is quite small, but the entrance is free.

Monuments at the Acropolis of Rhodes date back to the Hellenistic period of the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. There is a well-preserved stadium with a restored marble theater nearby. The city's guardian was the Temple of Pythian Apollo, which was damaged during World War II. In the center, you'll find Saint Johns' tombs and an underground quarry that has burial chambers dug into the sides.
