Its an imposive building, facing the cathedral on the oposite side of this square. Very good acoustics, nice building in the center of Timișoara, a building from the late 1800s improved and consolidated in 1920s. The venue is incredible and offers unbelievable architecture, both internally and externally, especially at night! This appeared to be the place for most tourists, with many taking photos outside of the venue. You may see lots of gun holes on the upper part, left from the history of anti communism revolution.

The Romanian National Opera, Timișoara (Romanian: Opera Națională Română din Timișoara) is a public opera and ballet institution in Timișoara, Romania. The Opera shares the same building with the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre in Timișoara. On April 20, 1880 the building is devastated by the first fire. The reconstruction, completed in 1882, keeps the original Renaissance style of the façade. After the second fire, which takes place in 1920, only the lateral wings remain intact. The reconstruction of the building begins on July 15, 1923, by architect Duiliu Marcu. On December 20, 1989, during the Romanian Revolution, a crowd of 40,000 gathered in the open space in front of the opera house.

The Timisoara Opera House is maybe unique as it houses the National Opera House, the Timisoara National Theater, German Theater and Hungarian Theater. It is worth checking out their programs and getting to a representation. Together with the Orthodox Cathedral, they are the most iconic buildings in Victoriei Square. Str. Marasesti 2, Timisoara.
