The Civic Theatre Newcastle is one of Australia's great historic theatres and hosts a wide range of musicals, plays, concerts, dance and other events each year in the nation's seventh largest city. The 1450-seat Civic Theatre Newcastle is funded by The City of Newcastle as a key cultural institution for the city. It is a heritage-listed site, designed by prominent architect Henry White and opened in 1929.
