Buffalo’s longest running, independently owned coffee shop in Elmwood village serving up European cafe vibes all day long
European style café great for coffee, bagels, pastries, lunch and more! its at the corner of the street. Great place to just hang out and people watch.
Great outdoor seating in the summer right on Bidwell Parkway, also serving beer and wine.
Another local favorite. Many writers/college students/professor work on their computers there. It is right next to the Bidwell park where Farmer Markets on Saturdays and summer concerts on Tuesdays are held in summer. The patio space in the summer is lovely.

“SATO is Buffalo, NY's premier Japanese restaurant with traditional roots. At our upscale yet casual restaurant, located in the heart of the Elmwood Village, you can enjoy Japanese food that is scratch-made, fresh, healthy, and sophisticated, with authentic Japanese flavors blending with local and seasonal ingredients. Our Elmwood location has a diverse Japanese food menu ranging from sushi, ramen, Japanese curry, tonkatsu pork cutlet, salad etc. with a wide array of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free items. (from website but agree that their food is delicious.)”
