Located in the Old Town, the Brusa Bezistan Museum was built in 1551 by Vezier Rustem-Pasa, a government official and a leader in the silk industry. The building itself is beautiful, with six big and two small domes making up the roof. In addition to housing a museum, Bezistan has kept its original purpose as a marketplace where you can buy spices, handmade jewelry, and clothes. The museum itself, part of the permanent exhibition of the Sarajevo Museum, chronicles prehistory, antiquity, and the Middle Ages.

This substantial building was erected in 1551 by Rustem Pasha, Grand Vizier of Suleyman the Magnificent. It was used for selling the silk that Rustem Pasha himself produced in Bursa. The gallery of the bezistan houses exhibits from the Ottoman period (including the most expensive equipment of an Ottoman warrior) and the Austro-Hungarian period.
