At Runde Miljøsenter you can explore the rich bird life on the Island of Runde. You can also visit a exhibition of the famous gold treasure RUNDESKATTEN, which was found there and is still the largest gold treasure ever found in Norway

Runde Environmental Centre located on the world famous bird island Runde, are normally open for lunch and coffee during summer. They serve home cooked meals in a spectacular setting. Do check out the Runde gold treasure while you are there, and say hello from me (it´s run by my brother and my sister in law). Do hike up to watch the thousands of seabirds! My personal favourite are the puffins, that normally return to their nests around 19.00.

A short walk from the Environmeltal Centre is Runde mountain (not really a mountain, it's an easy walk) where the Lunde birds nests. Look it up for pictures, this bird is SO beautiful.

Se utstillingen om Rundeskatten: Rundeskatten er den verdifulle lasten som det nederlandske frakteskipet «Akerendam» hadde med seg på sin jomfrutur i 1725 da det kom ut av kurs og forliste nordøst for Runde fyr . Skatten ble oppdaget 6. juli 1972 av de tre sportsdykkerne De tre sportsdykkerne fant nærmere 57 000 mynter og deler av dette kan sees i utstillingen på Runde Miljøsenter.
