This is an amazing retreat center for group workshops only but has 80 acres of ecologically sustained gardens. Every Wednesday you can come and volunteer and enjoy their amazing (free) lunch. A great idea for families.

Occidental is a cozy wooded town nearby. They have a few nice restaurants: Hazel's is a sweet cafe and Hops and Barley a good pub with good brews and pub grub. Occidental Arts and Ecology is a beautiful garden that is well thought out. They are an educational site as well.
