Tahoe City's most traditional museum setting. Enjoy native american basket's histories and tours. See gotahoenorth.com for more info. Easy add on to a day touring Tahoe City.

The Gatekeeper’s Museum is a reconstruction of the original home of the Watermaster who controlled the flow of water out of Lake Tahoe. The cabin showcases Tahoe history, from the Washoe people through the logging and mining eras.

They have a fairly extensive Native American basket collection. They also have a great black bear exhibit (not permanent)
