The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center exhibits over 200 animals, representing over 45 native species. The Zoo keeps animals that were orphaned, rescued, born at the zoo, rehabilitated animals, or sent to The Belize Zoo as donations from other zoological institutions.

Here you can interact with some amazing native animals of Belize including Jaguars (ask at reception about this experience, approximately $50) They are truly amazing to see in their natural habitat.

Cutest little Zoo in the world. BZ has done a fantastic job at educating Belizeans and visitors about the indigenous animals of Belize. Not to miss are the Red Macaw Parrot, the National Animal: Baird's Tapir, Beautiful wildcats, Harpy Eagle and more.

Feel as if you are on safari at the best small zoo on Earth. Witness the animals of Belize you are not likely to find even in much bigger zoos. Tapirs, jaguars, toucans, howler monkeys, and so many more. Perfect for a day trip walking and exploring the many paved paths. Great for all ages. Features a very nice luncheon and souvenir shop.
