Plenty of day-time boutique shopping and coffee spots. Nothing better than a sunny day in Ponsonby. Great dinner or drinks options for later in the day. Check out Ponsonby Central for lots of restaurant options if you can't manage to decide your cuisine in advance.

You could spend all arvo / evening in Ponsonby. It's a great area to go out for dinner or drinks at night, and shopping during the day.
