This thermal park has great walks and mountain bike tracks as well as the natural hot pools. The pools have recently been upgraded and there are lockers available as well as a container type cafe available. Do use the lockers provided as this area is a spot where lots of things have been reported stolen. This is a cool little spot to experience the natural hot water pools.

Free natural hot pools - from here it is a 45 minute walk along the river to Huka Falls (1 hr 30 min return)

A natural hot pool which flows into the river, beautiful spot, and free! Walk a further 30 mins along the river track to famous huka falls. This is a must do!

If you like walking don't drive to Huka Falls, instead do the walk from Spa Park (which is just north of Taupo town centre) to Huka Falls. It's about 45 minutes each way from the end of County Avenue (there is a car park at the end of the Avenue). At the Spa Park end of the walk you also have an opportunity to bath in thermally heated waters for free where a small hot stream runs into the Waikato River. The walk runs alongside the Waikato and it's a beautiful stretch of the river with pristine clear water right along.
