You can have a nice easy walk around Opunake Lake. This also connects onto the Opunake loop track which goes around the opunake township

An easy walking track circles this man-made lake. Keep an eye out for the historic cemetery and for the sharp eyed observer you may be able to spot the fighting trenches from the Taranaki Land Wars between the British and Maori in the 1860s.
