Citadel Books sells a wide range of new and quality secondhand books as well as artwork and prints. The shop is run by author Alan Spence. Alan Spence is an award-winning writer. He is Professor Emeritus in Creative Writing at the University of Aberdeen where he founded the WORD Festiva. Awards include Scottish Writer of the Year. in 2017 he was appointed Edinburgh Makar, or Poet Laureate for the City.

This is a great wee second hand bookshop run by a local poet. Unsurprisingly, it has an excellent selection of poetry and a good variety of other books. Take a while to look round and have a chat with the owner.
