The Pt Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude Zoo in Nainital is popularly known as Nainital Zoo. One of the most well-known family destinations,the zoo is perched on Sher Ka Danda Hill at an altitude of 2,100 m above sea level. Spread over a green area of 4.6 hectare ,the zoo is home to a variety of animals like the royal Bengal tiger , Tibetan wolves, leopard,various types of deer and the Himalayan bear. The zoo is also home to several species of birds.
