The McDonald forest is directly across from Adair Village and offers miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, or trail running. We would advise to drive there (so you don't have to cross highway99).

These forests are managed by Oregon State University. Trails are great and well-maintained. I even like just walking on the roads. All roads are behind locked gates so rarely if ever will you see a car. If you have your dog with you, it's a super dog-friendly hike. :)
