For the adventurous: For those willing to try something new, head over to Snack Bar o Patilhas and order “caracois” (snail stew) with some of their excitingly flavoured sangrias. Eating caracóis with a toothpick is about as Portuguese as it gets. O Patilhas has the best snails in Quarteira and is located along the promenade towards Vilamoura (if you’re looking at the ocean, make a right, walk along the promenade and you’ll soon find it).
