We recommend our tourists to taste national authentic dishes at 1. Tavern (Pandok) Yerevan chain-restaurants in several locations 2. Lavash in Tumanyan str. 3. Sherep in Amiryan str. 4. Caucaus in Harnrapetutyan str. 5. Genacvale chain restaurants and if possible avoid random shaurma/snack stands. Well, some are Ok, but mostly you see the queues there because it's the cheapest option to eat and locals are used to such under-cooked meat.

A big selection of traditional Armenian food (best food to order - "aveluk" salad with pomegrnates, dolma, Erzrum ghapama, beef file barbecue, red bean soup, spas soup, eggplant rolls with carrot, "gata" traditional Armenian pastry or pakhlava with honey and walnuts with Armenian coffee). There is live music in the evening after 7pm almost every day. Make a reservation one or two days earlier. It's a chain of restaurants all over Yerevan. They have halls for non-smokers.
