Voted CT’s favorite tourist site & Nat'l Historic Landmark. Home to Samuel Clemmons and his family from 1874-1891. 25-room home with stunning Gothic architecture including glass conservatory, library and iconic billiard room.

Mark Twain's home is a beautiful Queen Anne style design, and the tours are fabulous. They also have a gallery and host exhibits featuring many different artists, so a visit here goes beyond just the works of Mark Twain. It's also directly next to the home of Harriet Beecher Stowe, so you can visit both with one stop.

This is a great old victorian house. Beautifully curated and the tour is wonderful. I've been here many times. The Harriet Beecher Stowe House is right next door, so you can see both in one stop. 25 minute drive.

Mark Twain chose to live in Hartford for its wealth and culture. This is where he wrote his most famous books. Harriet Beecher Stowe house is next door as well.
