Since many centuries a big community of Jewish People are living here. Their first location was on the island called Giudecca, from the name "Giudei", that means Hebrew. 500 years ago, the Doge of Venice decided to give to this important Community a nice place, called Ghetto. The are wonderful Sinagogas and some restaurants serving Kosher food. It's located close to the train station area, in Cannaregio district. The calm and the atmosphere are unique as well as the history of these things Persons.

The oldest European Jewish Ghetto is 5 minutes by foot from the flat. It was built during the Republic of Venice in 1516; Jews were forced to remain in the Ghetto from sunset to sunrise. Restrictions lasted until the French conquest of Venice in 1797, when racial laws have been unwritten.

The Jewish ghetto of Rome is among the oldest ghettos in the world; in fact it arose 40 years after the one in Venice which is the first ever. The term derives from the name of the Venetian district, gheto, where there was a foundry (precisely gheto in Venetian), where the Jews of that city were forced to reside; another possible etymology traces the origin of this word to the Hebrew גט ghet (pl. גיטים ghittim or גיטין ghittin), which means separation. three synagogues, a beautiful square with high buildings, creating a unique ancient district hosting the Jewish community since the 16th Century. It should be noted that the Jewish community was the most relevant foreign community living in Venice.
