Long Creek Falls is a 50-foot-high fairly wide waterfall located near Three Forks in the beautiful Three Forks Valley in northern Georgia.

I have not yet personally been here - but it is top on my "to do" list! I think it's about a 2-mile out-and-back hike whose claim to fame is being on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Appalachian Trail (AT) in Georgia. The waterfall, one of the few on the southern stretch of the AT, is apparently stunningly beautiful and tumbles over 50 feet -- and is surrounded by hemlock trees, rhododendrons and a sharp, sheer rock face.

If you want to visit a waterfall and say you hiked a stretch of the famous Appalachian Trail, this is your chance to knock both out at once! The drive back to these falls does get a bit scenic as the paved road ends, but any car should be able to handle it. My main suggestion here is just keep driving! It is back there and you'll know you've arrived when you see all of the other cars parked in the lot. I would say that this is one of the longer hikes from the parking area (still less than a mile) but it's not really steep in either direction so take your time and enjoy the nature on your walk back. If you get hot, you've got cold clean creek and waterfalls to cool off in as your reward to reaching it. We like to pack a lunch and hang out a bit once we get there. It is typically not quite as crowded as Falls Branch Falls.
